Cylinders, Complex Shapes & Bottles

In order to meet your needs when printing onto uneven and complex shapes, we have a dedicated pad and rotary print facility enabling us to produce high-quality prints onto a wide variety of surfaces which are otherwise difficult to achieve, such as curves, cylinders and awkward angles.

When printing on uniquely shaped products which have multiple surfaces, shapes, angles and circumferences, a successful method of getting the image, text or both onto your product is via pad printing (also known as tampo printing).

This is an indirect gravure printing process in which a silicone pad is used to transfer an image onto irregularly shaped, recessed or three-dimensional products. The unique properties of the pad enable it to pick the image up from a photographically created printing plate and transfer the image to a variety of surfaces, such as flat, round, textured, uneven, concave or convex surfaces.

We can print onto virtually any substrate, catering for products used both indoors and outdoors. Print can be a single colour or multiple colours, depending on your design. We have machines that are capable of printing up to four colours in a single pass enabling a faster completion and greater cost effectiveness.

Where specialist jigging is required, we can produce our own or use your jig, providing it is complementary to our machinery.

Pad printing is especially suited to items such as:

  • Push buttons and switches
  • Illuminated buttons
  • Metal/plastic housings
  • Medical equipment
  • Angled panels
  • Joysticks
  • Alarms
  • Gear levers

Bottles

A popular print method for bottles and cylinders is rotary printing, which refers to the ability to rotate your product while simultaneously screen printing your design around the circumference of the item.

Our wealth of experience enables us to select the best-performing inks for both chemical and mechanical resistance, making prints hard-wearing and durable for your product tailored to its end use.

This process is well suited to glass, metals and certain plastics.
